Dr Lee Boon Yang, Chairman of SPH and SPH Foundation, said: “As the long-drawn battle against Covid-19 enters its second year, many of the vulnerable in our community continue to face disruptions to their lives brought about by the pandemic. Doing good remains an integral part of SPH’s DNA, and it is our hope to do our best to alleviate the burden of the less fortunate no matter the circumstances.”
Mr Phillip Tan, Chairman of Community Chest, said: "SPH has been a long-time supporter of Community Chest. We are heartened to see SPH’s unwavering commitment in empowering communities-at-risk, especially in this challenging time when many individuals and families have been impacted.”
In addition, SPH will also be donating $7,359 in total to STSPMF and BT BAF. This amount was raised from the SPH Tribe Challenge 2021 - Heart & Sole Charity Fundraiser. Organised by SPH’s Corporate Communications & CSR Division and the company’s sports and recreation club called Club Zest, the fundraiser from 15 June to 14 July 2021 saw over 160 staff participating in a virtual charity walk, clocking more than 11,000km to raise funds for STSPMF and BT BAF. The donation comprised staff’s donation as well as matching donations from Club Zest and SPH Staff Volunteers Club.
